Progressive

This treatment is designed to promote skin renewal by removing dead skin cells and improving skin texture. Unlike some other treatments, it doesn't typically cause visible exfoliation immediately after application. Instead, the effects of the treatment may become more apparent with repeated use, as the skin gradually sheds its outer layer. This process is known as sloughing, and it can help to reveal brighter, smoother, and healthier-looking skin over time.

Mid-Depth (Most Recommended)

After application, the peels penetrate the intra-epidermal layer of the skin and start their effects. Within 2 to 3 days, exfoliation of the skin begins, which leads to the removal of dead skin cells, dirt, and impurities from the skin surface. Despite this process, the skin undergoes very little downtime, and the peeling is generally light and comparable to a sunburn peel. The peels can be an effective way to improve the skin's texture, tone, and overall appearance.

Deep

This type of peel is known as a deep chemical peel, which is designed to have an impact on the deepest layers of the skin. This peel is usually carried out by a dermatologist, and it is a more invasive procedure compared to other types of peels.

Once the peel is applied, the skin will turn brown and become crusty, which is a normal reaction to the chemicals used. After three to four days, significant peeling will occur, and the skin will start to flake off. However, instead of flaking, the skin will peel off in large segments, which can be quite alarming for some people.

The entire process of the deep chemical peel takes about seven to ten days, and during this time, it is important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by the dermatologist or the plastic surgeon. These instructions may include avoiding direct sunlight, using gentle skincare products, and avoiding activities that may cause sweating or irritation to the skin.

Although the deep chemical peel can be uncomfortable and require more downtime than other types of peels, many people find that the results are worth it. This peel can improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation, and it can also improve the texture and overall look of the skin.

What type of home care should I use after my chemical peel?

There are specific instructions to be followed after your skin peel – this is as important as the peel itself. Post care will include occlusive healing balm, epidermal growth factor (cell renewal and wound repair), calming, soothing topicals to reduce itching and inflammation and a gentle cleanser.
